We were working on drawings with visual texture, and Cassidy had taken this photograph late last year. Though it wasn’t exactly what I envisioned with the texture project, this turned out to be a successful drawing. I love the droplets in particular; it’s not easy to capture the reflection of water, the change in color, and the size distortion.
I’d like to see the colors in the leaf itself a little more developed, because they look washed out. The texture of the leaf looks a little flat as well. I was arguing for more leaves in the background, but I think the solid black works because it accentuates the two droplets at the bottom of the page.
